Originally founded in 1914, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum started as a collection of donations from prominent local artists and through its history has become an exceptional destination for art enthusiasts. It is from these beginnings that the museum continues its dedication to both showcase the work of local community artists and to exhibit and collect art works of merit, and to educate the public in the arts. Throughout the past several decades, the museum has continued to grow, and its most recent renovation and expansion has improved its facilities to reflect its mission. The Provincetown Art Association and Museum is intent on continuing to diversify its collection and therefore the exhibits rotate frequently. Prior to your visit it is best to check the PAAM’s website to see the most current exhibits. In addition to the exquisite collection, the museum also offers special events and classes to the public.
