Beautiful flowers, intriguing exhibits and numerous walking paths
Heritage Museums and Gardens located in Sandwich, Massachusetts, is the largest public garden in Southern New England. The beautiful Museum and Gardens span over 100 acres of magnificent grounds and trails on the banks of the Shawme Pond in this historic district.
While the flowers that bloom annually are beautiful, Heritage is especially famous for the Dexter Rhododendrons, which bloom between late May and early June. Visitors can also view the collection of daylilies, hostas and hydrangeas along with various other plants. Specialty gardens, water features and sculptures are also available for viewing along the property.
At Heritage, visitors can explore three buildings which house permanent exhibits of world-class automobiles, a working carousel, American folk art, and changing special exhibits on aspects of American Culture. Guests can also enjoy Hidden Hollow, a place for families to play in and explore the natural world. It features a wide range of activity areas in which families can enjoy the outdoors together.

Heritage is proud to take part in the Blue Star Museums program. Military families can experience Heritage with free admission from Memorial Day to Labor Day. All active duty military are eligible and may bring up to five immediate family members with them to Heritage. |

Whimsical Garden Gates Panel Discussion
Join our Garden Gates Artists for a panel discussion about the inspiration behind and the creative process involved in the creation of their original sculptures seen throughout Heritage Museums & Gardens' special outdoor exhibition, Whimsical Garden Gates. At these panels, the artists will discuss how they approached Heritage Museums & Garden's call for artists and designed fanciful and functional garden gates that compliment Heritage Museums & Gardens' beautiful display gardens. |

Hoods Up
Come and see the cars in the collection displayed with their hoods open. Experts will be on hand to provide information about the usually unseen mechanical components of the cars that will appeal to "gear heads" and general visitors alike. Free with admission. |

Norman Rockwell: Beyond the Easel
Featuring more than 150 artworks by the famous illustrator, this exhibition is comprised of two approaches to Rockwell's work that were organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass.
